Packaging Technologist (Strathroy)---Full time

Reporting to the area Manager this salaried position is responsible for leading and supporting packaging development activities. Development and approval of primary, secondary, and tertiary components including technical support related to packaging within the operations.
The successful candidate will participate and support day to day production including new product introductions, providing technical expertise on pack/delivery format, material selection, functionality and testing of critical quality attributes.



Primary Responsibilities



•Developing, approving and controlling technical specifications for our packaging components
•Support customer development, and approval for artwork including blister tooling design
•Coordination of technical trials to evaluate component functionality, machine compatibility and performance on-line
•Coordination with various packaging component vendors
•Lead and participation in continuous improvements projects for the filling/packaging of existing products
•Lead and participation in the identification and implementation of new packaging technology
•The role will involve close partnerships with R&D, Quality and Engineering
•Support technical transfers (product, processes, and equipment)
•Support the preparation and execution of process validation protocols, process validation reports and study protocols, as appropriate
•Effectively communicate on a timely basis with management and other departments within Accucaps and customers to ensure clear understanding and acknowledgment of project/program status, risks, actions, and outcomes
•Lead/support Corrective Action Preventative Action implementation
•Operate under and maintain GMP conditions
•Represent functional area and projects at local, technical, and customer meetings


Success Criteria



•Engineering degree or college diploma in a production/packaging related field
•Minimum 2 years industry experience in the development of packaging component or materials (preferably in Food or Pharma)
•Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility an asset.
•Demonstrated ability to resolve technical or related packaging issues, lead and complete projects
