Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager of Shared Services is responsible for managing day to day accounting of payables, collections, assuring related compliances and banking/cash management and managing staff in support of the corporation. This role is accountable to lead the Shared Services team in providing financial reporting and analytic capability to meet the business and financial governance needs and to meet the highest of standards.
Primary Responsibilities
•Manage the Shared Services accounting staff
•Oversee execution of agreed upon components of core financial processes including closing the books, planning and forecasting in accordance with the company’s governance standards.
•Oversee the production of regular reporting arising from these core processes.
•Lead and implement activities associated with Accounts payable and accounts receivable from a corporate perspective
•Lead the Treasury function for the company
•Provide project accounting in support of the corporate and divisional strategies
•Drive efficiency in core processes and reporting through automation, standardization, clarity of accountabilities and elimination of lower value add work.
•Partner with the Controller and Plant Accountants team to understand and prioritize ad hoc requests for analysis and reporting.
•Develop analyses which are responsive to the issue at hand and provide valuable business insight.
•Develop a highly engaged team with strong knowledge of core finance processes, strong analytical capability and relationship skills. Includes ensuring staff are high knowledgeable in the core processes they are performing and have adequate breadth of expertise to leverage scale opportunities that creating a shared service provides.
•Understand the strategic and operational priorities of the business to ensure activities of the team align with these priorities and envelope a customer centric operating mindset
•Manage relationships with multiple customers seeking support from the Shared Service team, to ensure needs are understood, effectively prioritized and delivered upon.
•Coach and train the Shared Services team
•Recommend policies, processes and standards for the Shared Services team
•Monitor the work of the Shared Services team to ensure compliance with all regulatory and Corporate Finance governance requirements.
•Investigate transactions, agreements, documentation, etc. as required
•Audit the work of others in order to ensure accuracy
•Other duties as required
Success Criteria
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance)
•C.M.A and/or C.G.A or a senior level designation candidate with demonstrated progress towards certification with anticipated certification within two years
•Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
•5+ years of experience supervising or managing a staff responsible for A/P / A/R / G/L / Period End Close operations
•Experience and familiarity with pharmaceutical, manufacturing and/or GMP facilities
Additional Skills
•Related experience working for a mid- to large-size company
•Experience with ERP software and demonstrated working understanding and knowledge of systems and databases as related to the role; experience in system changes/migration and upgrade is highly valued
•Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills (oral & written)

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas to all levels in a clear, concise and compelling manner
•Strong relationship management skills.
•Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management, team members and other internal/external colleagues

•Up to date knowledge of technology development in the areas of financial/accounting/banking transactional activities
