LITERACY & TECHNOLOGY LIAISON (LITERACY LINK SOUTH CENTRAL) *2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE*

Job Description:

Successful candidates will spend 42 weeks working to enhance the use of technology in training at adult literacy organizations by promoting hand-on learning and experimentation.  They will work with both Literacy Link South Central and the operators of London's MakerBus to create opportunities for adult literacy students to learn within the Bus's portable education space.  Literacy and Technology Liaisons will also work to increase the Literacy community's understanding of how to incorporate gamification principles into existing adult literacy.

Successful applications will have:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of digital technology and an understanding of how it drives learning
  • The ability to work in both an office setting and a hand-on, experiment-based environment
  • Intermediate to excellent computer skills, with a solid foundation in Microsoft Word
  • Comfort with teaching, training and public speaking
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Curriculum development and/or training material design experience preferred
  • A Secondary School diploma (preferred)
Additional Skills:
  • Candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with the Maker Movement and how it effects learning will be given additional consideration
  • Experience in scheduling would be an asset
  • A prior knowledge of adult literacy would be welcome but is not essential

Salary:  $423.00 weekly for 32 hours per week
