Description:

Dowler-Karn Limited, a leading Southwestern Ontario propane and fuel distributor, has an immediate opening for a permanent, fulltime Customer Account Representative for its Chatham/ Windsor territory. Working closely with our Branch Managers, Marketing Manager, and other key industry and community partners, the successful candidate will be tackling sales leads, following up on referrals, and implementing strategic company programs for new business. In addition, The Representative will work closely with our service and customer service staff to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed the needs of our diverse range of customers. The position will be based out of our modern Chatham facility with responsibilities for this branch territory in addition to assisting our Windsor branch customers to the southwest.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess strong organizational and business related skills, and will be tasked with promoting a multi-product line in a growing but established market. Qualified candidates must be self-directed and possess excellent time management skills as well as strong communication and customer service abilities. Sales experience with some rural or agricultural exposure would be beneficial. The ability to communicate effectively with customers and peers is essential, as are strong negotiating skills.
Familiarity with propane, fuels and lubricants along with knowledge of the industry’s regulatory and safety requirements would be beneficial. Industry specific or technical expertise would be preferred but can be trained. A G-2 (Gas Technician) license would be considered an asset.
Some degree of computer proficiency is also necessary, as is a willingness to work in both office and, more often, external environments. By extension, a clean driving record is a necessity.
Good customer service and communication skills are required, as is a willingness to work flexible hours. Hours of work are based on the needs of the business in relation to the hours of branch operation, customer specific needs, and seasonal variations. As well, on an as needed basis, you may be required to attend evening or weekend industry, charity or community functions / events on behalf of the company.

SUPPORT WORKER NEEDED - PARKHILL

Support is required for a young girl with developmental disabilities.  Support would involve both in-home and community support/respite.  Support worker must have hands on experience supporting individuals and be creative in planning low cost community outings.  Behavioural strategies are shared with the support worker and training will be provided.

The Women's Rural Resource Centre of Strathroy and Area ("WRRC") is a non-profit agency whose mandate is to support women and children whose lives have been affected by woman abuse.  We provide counselling, transition support, advocacy, residential services, public education, advocacy, and second stage housing.

ADMINISTRATION & VOLUNTEER SUPPORT SUMMER STUDENT - WOMEN'S RURAL RESOURCE CENTRE

The Women's Rural Resource Centre of Strathroy and Area ("WRRC") is a non-profit agency whose mandate is to support women and children whose lives have been affected by woman abuse.  We provide counselling, transition support, advocacy, residential services, public education, advocacy, and second stage housing.

Our team of dedicated support workers, counsellors and advocates work to support women who are living with violence in their lives.  We support women and their children to be safe and make good decisions for their families - we offer a helping hand and the support they need.  We also work with people who hurt and are looking for an opportunity to change their patterns of violence and live in peace with their family.

The WRRC is seeking a strong woman-centred Administration & Volunteer Support Summer Student for a part-time, 8 week contract opportunity.

Summary:  Working 30 hours/week, this role will support the staff team with administrative duties.  This support will include providing support to the Organizational Support Team.  As this position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs 2014, summer students must be under the age of 30 and returning to full time education in the fall 2014.

Reporting Relationship:  This position reports to the Finance Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Organizational Support Team by performing administrative duties and projects as required.
  • Provide a welcoming environment to all individuals having contact with WRRC either in person or indirectly
  • Answer telephones and direct the caller to the appropriate person/program.  Utilize Outlook Calendars when necessary to assist in scheduling of appointments.
  • Coordinate volunteers as needed to facilitate volunteer requests
  • Assist in accepting of donations for the food bank, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed
  • Organize and maintain the food bank as needed
  • Assist with Walk-a-Mile fundraiser preparations

PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR - CONSTRUCTION

Talentcor London is currently recruiting for a Project Administrator to support on-site construction in the Strathroy area.

Rate of Pay:  $18 - $20/hr, depending on experience.

The Administrator will be expected to perform in an accurate, timely manner to ensure the efficient and effective day to day business activities of the Project.  This is a 5 month contract assignment located in the Strathroy area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handles and distributes incoming and outgoing calls, correspondence, facsimiles, mail and couriers including delivery of time sensitive faxes
  • Organizes schedules and coordinates meetings, presentations, conference calls, various other functions, appointments as requested
  • Coordinates with external vendors to receive, track, distribute and process external invoices to appropriate approving authorities
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Site Procedures
  • Preparation and/or revisions of sometimes highly confidential correspondence, complex internal and external documentation including varied agreements, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining the Site filing system
  • Maintain site records as required including safety and OH&S documents, Drawings, Sub Trade contract files
  • Data entry of project costing such as labour hours, equipment hours and third party costs.  Generate Project cost reports as directed by Project team members
  • Answer queries from the project team and external parties in a timely manner
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years related administration experience
  • Familiarity with construction sites and materials is an asset
  • Bachelor or related Administrative Diploma preferred
  • High degree of professionalism and dedication
  • Ability to work with multiple Project Managers/Coordinators within a large team environment
  • Prioritize demanding workloads and meet tight deadlines
