Christmas Kettle Coordinator

Job Title: Christmas Kettle Coordinator
Anticipated Start Date: November 1, 2013 - End date: December 31, 2013
Attention to: Major Roland Shea

Temporary Position (approximately 30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $12.25/hr
Location: Strathroy, ON

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The recruitment, orientation and performance management of Kettle Workers employees and volunteers
• Expected to work in cooperation with the Executive Director
• Coordinates the schedule for kettle staff and responds to emergency absences, etc.
• Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites
• Delivers and picks-up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations
• Hosts at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
• Assumes responsibility for coordinating kettle counters and/or overseeing counting
• Ensures that kettle locations have adequate supplies of literature etc.
• Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
• Record Statistical data and prepare weekly time sheets as required
• Post campaign; retrieve all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations
• Perform other position related duties as required

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must have:
• Minimum of three (3) months of prior related experience
• Experience in office administration excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced office setting
• Experience with several office equipment and Microsoft Office applications
• Valid Ontario "G" Driver's license and vehicle are required
• Understanding and support of the Mission of The Salvation Army

Provide an original copy of a Criminal Records Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector screening secured through either the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment: Note: A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
