MERCHANDISER LARGE STORE COCA-COLA REFRESHMENTS - Strathroy area

Join the Coca-Cola team!  Merchandisers work in local stores to keep Coca-Cola products fully stocked on the shelves.  This position is primarily responsible for maintaining product availability and merchandising products at all designated accounts.  This position is a day shift role, supporting the Strathroy area. Successful candidates must have access to their own vehicle and be able to work weekends with Monday and Thursdays mandatory during the week.

Rate of Pay:  starting rate $12.50/hr.  There is a mileage reimbursement of 50 cents per km.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain product in store racks, shelves, displays and coolers by identifying replenishment needs; transporting product between backroom and display floor with manual equipment (i.e. pallet jack, handtruck); utilizing hand tools; replenishing, facing and rotating product; building, changing and taking down product displays; maintaining product signage; cleaning product space; and securing damaged or defective product
  • Manage backroom by organizing and consolidating backstock (product); identifying, monitoring and reporting backstock inventory levels; evaluating and processing damaged or defective product; re-packing product; organizing backroom materials; operating powered equipment (i.e. straddle stacker, powered pallet jack) and manual equipment (pallet jack); completing store documentation; and cleaning backroom.
  • Maintain areas of responsibility in designated accounts by communicating status and concerns to store and company personnel; identifying and reporting unsafe working conditions; attending and completing company training and certifications; following company and store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment and safety; following applicable local, state and federal laws; utilizing a mobile device to complete work activities; and operating a motor vehicle
  • Provide customer service to Consumers and Store personnel by identifying and resolving concerns; answering questions; locating product; and responding to assistance requests.
Physical abilities:
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance while kneeling; squatting; reaching above the head; reaching at the waist; reaching below the knees; and bending at the knees
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull manual transport equipment (i.e. pallet jack, handtruck) containing product loads a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities
  • Ability to read information in small, medium and large print
  • Ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours during the work day.
  • Ability to walk a minimum of 4 miles during the workday
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must have current vehicle liability insurance
  • Must have a driving record with no major moving violations in the last 3 years
  • Must provide and maintain a personal vehicle for use during employee working hours.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 1 year experience working in replenishment or as Merchandiser
  • 1 year experience working in grocery, retail, consumer goods, warehousing, or related field
  • 1 year experience working in physically demanding fields such as construction, food service, landscaping, manufacturing, military, nursing, or related experience
  • 1 year experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks
  • Straddle stacker certification
  • Powered pallet jack certification
  • 1 year experience working under little or no supervision
  • 1 year of college coursework in business, marketing, communication, or related areas.

Job Overview:
You will be the “senior” S-Trip! Member during the trips. Field coordinators are selected to manage and execute one specific aspect of a program. Each individual is responsible for certain tasks related to their role and will be the “go-to” person if you have questions about the program. Key Responsibilities/Duties: • Managing Trip Leaders on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.

• Helping in the coordination of excursions with other coordinators.
• Helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all passengers trip.
• Making the hard decisions and understands the importance of being the disciplinarian.
• Leadership experience is must!!! (Frosh/Orientation Leader, Residence Advisor, Coaching and Camp Counselor experience are all suitable forms of relevant leadership experience)

Skill, Experience, and Educational Requirements
- Past experience working with you in a leadership role (i.e. Frosh/Orientation Leader, Residence Advisor, Camp Counsellor, Coaching are all suitable forms of relevant leadership experience)
- Past experience coordinating/implementing large scale programs.
- Attendance at mandatory pre-trip training session
- Completed or pursuing College or University Degree
- Must be able to commit to pre-trip and on-going training throughout the year
- Must be comfortable working long hours and evening shifts supervising the students on destination
- Proven negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and deal with stressful situations.
- Valid passport
- Outgoing and positive
- Fluent in French and Spanish an asset.

Salary
This is a part time contract position.  Compensation will depend on the duration of the trip.
