Responsibilities:
Accurate completion of all customer transactions including cash and debit sales
Open/close the store when requires
Contribute to meeting store budgets by maintaining customer service stands
Replenish inventory levels based on supervisor's direction
Receive and process donations of goods
Abide by store policies and procedures
With direction and support, become part of a production team
Assist with store layout plans to attract customers, which include window displays and merchandise displays; ensure attractiveness of the store through "Tidy Maintenance"
Contribute to the control of inventory by receiving, sorting, and pricing as per directed
Contribute to the safety of staff and customers (eg snow removal, clear fire exits, clean spillage)
Perform other position related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Completed Public School
Minimum of 3 months of prior related experience including cash handling experience
Knowledge and experience using interact and/or credit card processing is required
Able to stand for long periods, there is frequent twisting, bending, crouching, and reaching
Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds
Self-motivated and disciplined
An understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army of Canada
NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
Salary: $10.25 per hour for casual/relief position (no guaranteed hours, work will be offered on an as needed basis) Shifts include weekdays and Saturdays.
