Position Title | Logistics / Accounting Associate |
Overview |
This position will support Logistics department with Canadian and US customs. The candidate will also be responsible for other govt. agency compliance requirements, Invoicing and Accounts payables. The candidate will be expected to work closely with Logistics entities, Sales, Manufacturing and Marketing on various logistics responsibilities. |
Responsibilities | - Ensuring compliance with Canadian, United States and other foreign government’s customs regulations.
- Assisting the logistics department with managing documentation and gathering the data required.
- Interfacing with customer services, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, and other suppliers to determine and/or validate classification, valuation, country of origin and marking requirements.
- Research customs regulations and ruling, determining regulatory or interpretive basis for classification, marking, and valuation decisions and communicate findings to Finance and Logistics department.
- Working with logistics team to identify operational gaps and develop efficient solutions.
- Assisting invoicing and Accounts Payable functions
- Coordinating with customers on discrepant shipments.

Requirements |
- In-depth understanding of Canadian and US Customs (import and export) is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of Harmonised Tariff Schedule
- Must have working knowledge of US and Canadian customs compliance rules and regulations.
- Customs Broker’s License preferred. (Canadian)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word.
- Knowledge of Simply Accounting is preferred.
- Must have at least 3 years of trade and customs experience.
- Diploma in Business/ Logistics or related field is required
