Landscaper/Maintenance (Strathroy)---Positions Filled

Well established local company is looking for 2 full time seasonal employees.  Some experience with landscaping and/or lawn and garden maintenance is definitely preferred.  This reputable company provides construction of ponds and water features, landscape designs using natural stone, and residential and commercial maintenance across the region.  Positions to start immediately.  Drivers license required.  35-50 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, some Saturdays may be required.  Typically, full time work is available until the end of November, but the right candidate with a good attitude and skills may be offered ongoing work throughout the year. 

While the ideal candidates will be available for the full season, post secondary students looking for work may apply and may be given consideration.

Job Description

Production Responsibilities
-Labeling of all jugs, cans, boxes, sample jars, pails, lids etc.
-Dispensing of samples as needed
-Maintain supply of sample jars for lab and sampling area
-Prepare chinking samples as needed
-Product dispensing, placing lids and boxing
-De-labeling drums
-Preparation of labels (color labels, taping, etc.)
-Bagging of impel rods
-Occasional customer assistance

Cleaning Responsibilities
-Weekly cleaning (sweeping, moping)
-Weed properties as requested
-Take out office garbage and recycling weekly

Administrative tasks
-Maintain supply of 3 types of binders
-Maintain office supplies in organized cupboard
-General assistance.

Logistics / Accounting Associate
Overview

This position will support Logistics department with Canadian and US customs. The candidate will also be responsible for other govt. agency compliance requirements, Invoicing and Accounts payables. The candidate will be expected to work closely with Logistics entities, Sales, Manufacturing and Marketing on various logistics responsibilities.
 Responsibilities
  
  • Ensuring compliance with Canadian, United States and other foreign government’s customs regulations.
  • Assisting the logistics department with managing documentation and gathering the data required.
  • Interfacing with customer services, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, and other suppliers to determine and/or validate classification, valuation, country of origin and marking requirements. 
  • Research customs regulations and ruling, determining regulatory or interpretive basis for classification, marking, and valuation decisions and communicate findings to Finance and Logistics department.
  • Working with logistics team to identify operational gaps and develop efficient solutions.
  • Assisting invoicing and Accounts Payable functions
  • Coordinating with customers on discrepant shipments.
Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of Canadian and US Customs (import and export) is a must.
  • In-depth knowledge of Harmonised Tariff Schedule
  • Must have working knowledge of US and Canadian customs compliance rules and regulations. 
  • Customs Broker’s License preferred. (Canadian)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word.
  • Knowledge of Simply Accounting is preferred.
  • Must have at least 3 years of trade and customs experience.
  • Diploma in Business/ Logistics or related field is required

Local, family owned specialized concrete company is looking for motivated and hard working candidates for their expanding business.  The ideal candidate will be a self starter with a desire to learn new skills and abilities.  Physical fitness is required.  Training will be provided on specialized machines used in the installation and finishing.  Steel toed boots are requred.  Candidates must have their own transportation to get to work sites locally.  Some projects may be out of town, and employer will cover meals and accomodations when required.

This is an opportunity to grow with the company, and the best candidate will have the drive, desire and initiative to take on greater responsibility. 

Typically candidates will be expected to work Monday -Friday, daytime hours.  Occasional Saturday work may be required.  $15.00/hr to start for the right candidate.

Our company was founded in 1988. We are an innovative and progressive company producing a premium frozen wheatgrass juice from certified organic fields.


Due to the nature of our business our operation is seasonal. Training of employees, cleaning of the operation and production is performed in the months of April to the end of June.


Our operation runs 7 days a week (weather permitting) from 7am to 11pm.
We require production/quality control workers, machine operators, packing crew and fork lift drivers. Employees are scheduled for a particular shift according to job position. All efforts will be made to
accommodate employees to their shift preference and time off. Employees must have their own transportation. Employees must be legal Canadian residents and no younger than 17 yrs of age on date of hire.

Employees must be able to follow safety procedures, company policies and job duties. Experience in the agriculture, food processing, plant manufacturing is an asset.  Wages starting at $11.50/hour - bonuses will be paid out at the end of the season.

  • Resolve technical problems that arise and coordinate line changeovers.
  • Maintains safety, health and environmental procedures. Identifies, investigates, corrects and documents potential environmental and safety problems.
  • Tracks metrics around cost, compliance and efficiency  and recommends measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Schedule resources including manpower, machinery and materials to meet or exceed budget requirements
  • Investigates and documents non-conformances leading to identify the root cause and then assigning and implementing an effective corrective action

Success Criteria

  • Degree or Diploma is preferred.
  • Certificate or other formal qualification awarded based on completion of a course in a Life Sciences related field would be considered.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant and practical experience in a supervisory role

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to have:
- experience dealing with automotive quality documents such as control plans, PFMEA's and standard operating procedures
- some exposure to quality systems such as TS-16949 or ISO-9000
- previously dealt with automotive manufacturers such as GM, Ford, and Chrysler
- enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- possess experience in accurate measuring using precision instruments
- capable of reading and understanding blueprints
- extensive computer skills particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
- able to work with minimal supervision and a fast learner
