Labourer/Farm Drainage (Ailsa Craig ) -- Full Time

Busy farm drainage company is looking for at least 1 labourer for immediate hire. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, able to lift up to 75 lbs, and may have experience working with heavy machinery. Must have valid drivers license, and own transportation as employer works from Ailsa Craig.
Typically, work is Monday to Friday 7 am - 5:30 pm.

Pay is negotiable and will be based on abilities.

Employment Advisor - Thank you - Position filled

Strathroy based not-for profit service requires Employment Advisor.

Responsibilities:
Primary Duties:
·         Conduct individual employment assessments and develop client service delivery plans
·         Provide one-to-one employment services to case-managed clients, in accordance with client service delivery plans
·         Liaise with colleagues on ongoing basis to monitor client progress and after-services follow up
·         Maintain client case management files, follow up with clients and update required statistical reports
·         Provide guidance, information and support to clients seeking approval for training programs (Second Career)
·         Develop, adapt and deliver employment preparation workshops as required
·         Deliver group information sessions and conduct individual assessment sessions

Secondary Duties:
·         Provide clients with appropriate information, support and referrals to meet their training and employment needs
·         Work as part of the Agency team to ensure smooth delivery and coordination of services to clients
·         Maintain positive professional relationships and communication links with colleagues, public and other relevant community resources
·         Research and update understanding of labour market information and community resources on an ongoing basis
·         Evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery and present solutions to enhance services on an ongoing basis

Job Description as follows:

Employer Services:
  •  Contact and meet with employers to determine their current and future employment needs, and respond to employer inquiries regarding CEC services and clients
  •  Meet with employers to discuss and explore potential employment opportunities, promote the services of CEC, and discuss clients; skills and abilities
  •  Negotiate Training Incentive contracts with employers according to current guidelines, identifying employer needs and workplace opportunities for clients
  •  Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for file administration and accounting procedures, including case notes, invoicing and contract negotiation
  • Research appropriate employment  opportunities for clients
  • Take appropriate initiative to make decisions, recognizing the importance of established goals and objective updating and informing the Manager or the Client Services Coordinator when such decisions may impact or affect clients, staff or programming

Client Services:
  •  Review referred client information and interview clients to determine interests, skills and employment objectives
  •  Determine special needs, employment barriers, motivation, and current level of readiness for available workplace opportunities
  •  Develop job placement action plans, and follow through with clients to ensure improved access to the labour market ( i.e. work placements, job trials, evaluation periods, volunteer opportunities)
  •  Maintain regular contact with clients regarding job search progress, the development of leads, and follow-up with clients and employers after interviews to determine next steps
  • Send resumes and connect clients to workplace opportunities
  • Contact employers following interviews or placement for evaluation and follow-up
  • Meet with CEC counselors and staff on an ongoing basis to discuss mutual client progress and work cooperatively with all staff to ensure the highest quality of service standard is consistently maintained
Administration:
  •   Maintain professional and administrative relationships with all staff to ensure proper documentation is prepared and client status is properly monitored
  •   Prepare and submit all Training incentive and client documentation to appropriate staff, and ensure employer and employee files are up-to-date with all required documentation included
  •   Obtain approval of Training Incentive allocation and training contracts from Client Services Coordinator according to established procedures
  •  Follow-up with employers  to ensure payroll records are accurate and payroll invoices are properly and promptly submitted
General:
  •   Attend and participate in staff and community meetings, assist with committees as needed, and attend professional development events
  •  Network with community partners and contacts, maintain a high level of knowledge regarding current employment trends and opportunities
  •   Comply with Agency policies and procedures
  •   Perform other tasks as required by agency management

Concession Workers


Mature concession workers are needed at hockey arenas located in St. Thomas, Strathroy, Woodstock and Dorchester.

Operating hours: St Thomas and Dorchester locations: Mon to Fri 5 pm to 10 pm,
Sat and Sun: 7 am to 10 pm

Operating hours: Strathroy and Woodstock locations: Mon to Fri approx 8 or 9 am to 10 pm,
Sat and Sun: 7 am to 10 pm

Duties to include, but not limited to: customer service - taking and filling orders in an expedient, professional manner, operating cash register, handling money, preparing food such as hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, etc, cleaning all food service areas, equipment, all parts of concession, rotate stock. Those with Safe Food Handling training preferred.
