Drainage Tile Labourer (Ailsa Craig)---Position Filled

Ailsa Craig based drainage tile company is looking for one labourer starting immediately.  The suitable candidate must be very fit, energetic, and strong with the stamina to work hard the whole day.  Work days are Monday to Friday, 630am to 530pm.  Applicants must have a valid license and transportation to employer daily just outside of Ailsa Craig. 

Hourly wage starts at up to $28.00/hour depending on abilities.

Labourer-Insulation (Arkona)---Positions Filled

Seal-it Insulation is looking for a labourer on an ongoing permanent basis.  No experience with spray foam insulation is required, but a very strong work ethic is mandatory.  This is a very labour intensive position, so the ideal candidate must be very fit and must be able to work long hours in any weather.  Heavy lifting is required.  Work days are typically Monday to Friday.  Candidate must have a valid license and be able to get to the shop in Arkona daily.  Work boots are required. 

Immdiate start date!  $12.00 per hour to start with the opportunity for an increase within 3 months.

For the right candidate, an apprenticeship might be made available.

Trailer Technician: assemble transport trailer and tank - electrical wiring, piping, tires, decals, air brakes hubs, fenders lights etc..able to read schematic spec sheets, wiring diagrams, installation diagrams, electrical wiring, etc.  Involves assembly of finished product, fabrications and trouble shooting.

$14-18/hr pay depending on experience.

Production Technician


for the 2013 Processing Season, in our Strathroy location.  This opportunity will require shift work and some weekends. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Production Supervisor with the monitoring of the processing lines
  • Hourly completion of the Performance Variance Control Report (tunnel throughputs and tote temperatures)
  • Assist with the orientation and job task training of the work force
  • Monitor employee job performance and compliance with company policies
  • Assist in the coordination of job assignments
  • Assist the Production Supervisor in monitoring the sanitation program
  • Communicate with related departments under the Production Supervisors direction

Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in a related discipline
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and leadership abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiar with and able to troubleshoot processing equipment
  • Product knowledge relating to processing requirements and equipment capabilities
  • Knowledge of various quality control programs, Quality Assurance, HACCP, GMP’s
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Policies
  • Valid drivers license
  • Agricultural background and first aid training an asset

Breeder Technician/Artificial Inseminator (Strathroy) --- Full time permanent

Cuddy Farms is in the process of hiring for our farms but this time looking for candidates that could move into a management role once they have the understanding of the basic jobs on our farms.  We hire for the Breeder Technician/Artificial Inseminator role as our entry level position and promote these individuals from within to lead hands and assistant managers.  We are currently in need of individuals who are willing and capable of taking on the entry level role with the skills and abilities to in a year or so take on a management role. 

These individuals are working managers so continue to do the artificial insemination role during the week and then are required to manage the farm every other weekend so they must be physically able to handle up to 30 lb turkey hens repetitively and be flexible enough to also work weekends.

Buren Construction, a busy local company, specializing is residential and commercial construction and renovations,  is looking for at least one labourer, largely for framing,  for a full time permanent position.  The ideal candidate will be very physically fit.  Experience would be beneficial, but the employer will train a candidate that has the right attitude.  Typically, the company works Monday-Friday 7:30 - 5:00.  Most of the work is in the Strathroy region and the ideal candidate should have transportation to and from the main office outside of Strathroy. 

Fall arrest training will be provided, but candidates with previous certification would be ideal.  Wage is negotiable, and may be commensurate with experience and ability.
